Rio carnival is the biggest and best party in the world. Add Sugarloaf, Christ the Redeemer & Copacabana to the fantastic explosion of colour and sound of the Sambadrome for a fantastic Brazil tour.
Day 1 – Arrive Rio
You will be met at the Rio de Janeiro airport and transferred to your hotel where the streets will already be throbbing to the sounds of samba, the defining rhythm of Rio carnival. Soak in the atmosphere of Copacabana and Ipanema on your first night in this spectacular city.
Day 2 – The Corcovado, the White Christ statue overlooking Rio
In the afternoon we will collect you for a spectacular half-day tour to one of the new Wonders of the World, the Corcovado, or White Christ statue. This huge statue towers over the city of Rio and the views are incredible and will never be forgotten. A funicular railway takes you up to the top of the mountain for access to the viewing platforms from where you may use up all your camera memory! The afternoon will be yours to hit the world famous beaches or whatever you like, enjoy Rio`s famous nightlife in the evening.
Day 3 – Sugar Loaf Mountain and Rio Carnival Parade
Today you will take a tour to see the other very famous Rio de Janeiro landmark, the Sugar Loaf Mountain. You will ascend by a two stage cable car from where the views are also incredible, you really cant go wrong in Rio, make sure you have plenty of space on your camera memory card again. As an extra treat to yourself you could fly in a helicopter from the 1st stage platform of the cable car, around the Corcovado for a bird`s eye view of the city. In the evening you will be collected from your hotel and taken to the famous Sambadromo, home of the famous Rio carnival parade. This fantastic night will have you dancing in your seat to the infectious samba beats. Afterwards you will be taken back to your hotel to catch some sleep with what is left of the night.
Day 4 – Free Day
This is a day to relax on the beach with the locals or perhaps explore some more of this fascinating and beautiful city. Why not treat yourself to one of the traditional rodizios for dinner, a real meat lover’s dream.
Day 5 – End of your Brazil tour
It is time to wave goodbye to Rio as we transfer you to the airport for your onwards flight. Perhaps it is home or perhaps you will go the Iguazu Falls, or Buenos Aires, or Machu Picchu. Or why not extend your Brazil tour to explore some more of this fascinating and diverse country.
